Meet April
April Catlett is a master’s-level student at Liberty University, currently completing her Practicum and Internship with Thoughtful Counseling Group. She plans to continue her work with TCG as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) and brings enthusiasm, passion, and a strong commitment to the counseling field.
With more than 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults through community, church, school, and professional organizations, April has built a reputation for being a compassionate mentor and educator. As the owner and teacher of a respected preschool for 15 years, she created a safe and supportive space for young minds to learn and grow, while also serving children and families with special needs. She has designed curricula for schools, classes, businesses, and parenting workshops, demonstrating her creativity and dedication to fostering growth at every stage of life.
April has a deep interest in supporting individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, ADHD, and other neurodivergent issues. She is currently fine-tuning her skills in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy, with plans to pursue certification in play therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Known for her empathetic, down-to-earth approach, April has a unique ability to connect with clients and help them feel safe, heard, and supported on their journey toward healing and wholeness.
