About Celia Bell
Celia Bell is a clinical social work intern from the University of Washington Tacoma, who hopes to specialize in helping ADHD and autistic clients, but loves working with anyone who marches to the beat of their own drum. With years of experience working with adolescents and adults as a theater teaching artist and volunteer with PTSD organizations, Celia is excited to integrate all she has learned into her therapy practice. She draws from lived experience as a parent, daughter, partner and friend and is endlessly curious about people’s lives and experiences.
Her counseling style is highly eclectic, meaning that she will draw from many different sources. Celia is unafraid to admit when she doesn’t know something and will happily learn from your experiences or take time to research out of session to find an answer. She specializes in communicating with autistic and ADHD people, and has also spent time in academia studying PTSD, complex trauma, burnout (parental, caregiver and neurodivergent), creativity, humor, depression, anxiety, late-diagnosed ADHD and autism, co-morbid ADHD and autism (“AuDHD”), mood disorders in adolescents, perimenopause and coming out as LGBTQ+ late in life.
While she has lived and volunteer experience working with trans and non-binary students and adults, she is hoping to gain more experience as her counseling practice develops. In the future, Celia is seeking certifications in EMDR, Internal Family Systems and DBT, hoping to find more ways to help her clients navigate past trauma and improve emotional regulation in their day to day lives. Other than psychology, healing and growth, Celia’s special interests include cats, Shakespeare, musicals, Chicago history, Jane Austen, improv, sketch comedy and the latest passions of her kids, family and loved ones. Her practice is informed by her Unitarian faith, but she has a lot of experience with non-religious people, pagans, and people who are exploring their faith.
