About Dulcinea Phillips
Dulcinea Phillips earned her Associate degree in Human Services from Tacoma Community College and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Washington Tacoma, with plans to continue on to earn her Master of Social Work. She has over three years of experience as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP), providing individual and group counseling to people experiencing substance use and co-occurring disorders. Her experience includes helping clients navigate trauma, mental health concerns, relationship struggles, homelessness, low self-esteem, and rebuilding their lives after the impacts of addiction.
Dulcinea takes a genuine, nonjudgmental, and practical approach to counseling. She works to create a space where clients feel comfortable being honest, working through challenges, and moving toward meaningful change. She uses approaches including REBT, motivational interviewing, goal setting, coping skills, and identifying and challenging unhealthy thought patterns. Her goal is to help clients better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, and feel empowered with the skills and tools they need to create positive changes in their lives. Dulcinea looks forward to expanding her knowledge and experience working with individual adults and couples.
