Meet Ephraim
As a graduate student in mental health counseling, Ephraim draws on a robust background in psychology and neuroscience, both in the clinic and the lab. He has worked with a variety of people, including those suffering from substance use disorders, families with special needs children, and the incarcerated.
Ephraim has almost 20 years of behavioral neuroscience research experience, managing laboratories in both academic and corporate settings. Ephraim’s research has been featured in multiple academic journals.
His research has investigated Alzheimer’s disease, neuroinflammation, brain-gastrointestinal pathways, substance use disorder, schizophrenia, insomnia, depression, chronic pain, and other subjects related to the brain, mental health, and behavior.
Ephraim is very interested in working with presentations such as addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, as well as individuals or families leaving high-demand religions. With over a decade of experience as an entrepreneur, Ephraim also works well with the concerns and stressors that come with high-stakes leadership and business ownership.
Clients can expect a collaborative, grounded approach founded in curiosity, respect, and a deep respect for people’s capacity for growth and change. His expertise in the brain and behavior augments his therapeutic approach and assists in his walk with clients and formulating therapeutic goals.
Ephraim aims to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients are completely free to discuss anything they wish. He aims to ensure clients know they are accepted, heard, and understood.
His work is informed by humanistic and cognitive-behavioral perspectives, as well as extensive experience with psychological assessment and research related to trauma, stress, and neurocognitive processes.
Clients can expect Ephraim to be thoughtful, attentive, and collaborative as they work together to clarify goals, build on strengths, and experiment with new ways of being.
Ephraim is currently enrolled in the CACREP-accredited Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling program at the University of Puget Sound and will graduate in Fall 2027.
