About Shyla Oliver
Shyla Oliver a military spouse that is gaining her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University and obtained her bachelor’s of science of psychology from Washington State University.
Shyla has experience working closely with clients as a certified nursing assistant before changing career paths to mental health counseling. She is nearing the end of her counseling program and is on track to receive the silver medal for grade point average upon graduation next year. She is excited to work with children, adults and families while helping to bridge the gap of the mental health stigma. Being a military spouse herself, Shyla is also drawn toward helping veterans, especially those that are dealing with trauma. Shyla wants to utilize narrative therapy, person-focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) while working with a diverse population of clients in order to promote patient health.
In her free time, Shyla likes to spend time with her husband and three kids, working out and baking.
