About Stephan Westcott
Stephan (STEF-ən) works with individuals, couples, families, and groups across the lifespan. He supports clients navigating a wide variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, career challenges, relationship issues, trauma, and grief. Stephan uses an attachment-based psychodynamic approach and incorporates CBT, DBT, existential-humanistic, and Gottman concepts and interventions, tailored to client needs.
Stephan's first priority with each client is to create a warm, trusting, and accepting environment that fosters honest and genuine conversation. He views the quality of the therapeutic relationship itself as a critical driver of healing and growth. Drawing on insights from Zen and meditation, Stephan helps clients find ways to relate differently to pain, distress, and difficult emotions. He works collaboratively with each client to understand their unique world, establish and pursue personalized goals, and improve relationships.
After two decades in international engineering leadership, Stephan's professional and personal experiences led him to pivot toward mental health, focusing on helping people deepen relationships and navigate life's challenges. In his free time, he has volunteered with marginalized communities, including refugees and children in foster care. Stephan enjoys spending time with his family, as well as running, swimming, and playing pickleball.
Stephan welcomes clients from all cultures, identities, and backgrounds.
