About Zhirsty-Sosefine Buenaflor
Zhirsty-Sosefina Buenaflor earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Saint Martin’s University. She is a dedicated Mental Health Counselor with over five years of experience in community mental health, working with diverse populations across the lifespan.
As a mother of five, Zhirsty-Sosefina brings a deep sense of empathy, authenticity, and real-life understanding to her work. She values genuine human connection and strives to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their healing journey.
Her clinical experience includes working with individuals, adolescents, families, and couples facing a wide range of concerns, including trauma (sexual, physical, and emotional), depression, anxiety, PTSD, low self-esteem, grief, acculturation challenges, and suicidal ideation.
Zhirsty-Sosefina utilizes an integrative, evidence-based approach tailored to each client’s unique needs. Her modalities include Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Gottman Method Therapy.
She is especially passionate about serving clients through a multicultural and trauma-informed lens, recognizing the importance of cultural identity, lived experiences, and systemic influences in the therapeutic process. Her goal is to support clients in building resilience, fostering self-awareness, and creating meaningful, lasting change.
